Student Leadership and Employment

SILT offers a variety of student leadership and employment opportunities that promote engagement, learning, and community building. From administrative support internships to student leadership roles, our office is committed to providing professional and leadership development opportunities for all students in the Emory community.

Student Leadership Positions

Orientation Leaders serve as University liaisons to all new students and families and represent Emory during an intensive, week-long orientation session held the week prior to the start of classes.

The Orientation experience is a collaboration between Emory College of Arts and Sciences and Emory Campus Life to prepare students for their future in the Emory University learning community. This year we are offering two positions, one for new students and one for transfer students. Undergraduate students are eligible to apply both as a first year and transfer orientation leader within the same application. Students interested in applying as a Pre-Orientation Leader can apply to both, but must commit to only one.

Pre-Orientation Leaders are selected to serve as small group leaders throughout the Ignite Pre-Orientation program. Pre-O Leaders facilitate engaging discussions and activities related to self-awareness, goal-setting, and interpersonal skills. In addition, these students foster meaningful mentoring relationships to incoming first-year students while helping them discover what it means to be a student at Emory.

Students interested in applying as a Pre-Orientation Leader can apply to both Orientation and Pre-Orientation, but must commit to only one.
