Guidelines for RSO Advisors

We prioritize local motivations alongside regional and national affiliations. While we appreciate the expertise and continuity that regional and national organizations bring, Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) must align with Emory University's values and adhere to university policies and procedures. The interests and actions of RSOs should stem from internal student motivations.

As educators, we embrace a challenge and support approach, recognizing that students learn best when their work is actively challenged and supported with respect and trust.

Taking a holistic perspective, advisors can make the most impact by building a trusted relationship with students and understanding their personal, social, and academic development. When needed, advisors can refer students to appropriate campus resources. We aim to understand and support the complete well-being of each student.
